*yawn* Why do I always seem to write this late at night? The second draft has begun. Its by no means complete and won’t be completed tonight, but I have started it.

The original story was, in my word processor, a solid 4 pages long. The first third of a page, the intro if you will, sucked. It didn’t just suck a little, either. It sucked a lot. If your gonna do it, do it in a big way I always say and boy did that opening scene suck in a big way.

I’m writing a new intro. One with a lot more characters and some actual story. Gone is the cloudy “what the hell is going on” mystery of it all. It didn’t work. So far I’m several lines into the third page and the cast of characters isn’t even assembled.

I think this backstory is going to have a lot more substance than the “hey it happened” paragraphs it replaced. At least I sure hope it will. Lot of typing and mind stirring to just get to this point.

If I had to guess, I’d guess this draft might end up at 5,000 words. Maybe even longer. Draft #3 will probably be the major cutting board of the initial project. I’m still aiming for a final at Draft #4 and a posting before the end of the year. It wouldn’t be the first (or, I’m sure, the last) time I produced with my back against the wall.

edit: um, did i say 15k? I meant 5k. lol. oopsie. hey it was late and I was tired.
